Life Skills Education/description and curriculum-Life-Skills classes are to promote healthily living.  The scheduled classes are intended to assist with finding and keeping employment, building integrity, budgeting finances, fostering healthy relationships with self and others, and changing the belief systems.

Transition Coaches– meet with their assigned resident one a week for 1 1/2 hours. The coaches go over the weekly worksheets with the resident. The worksheets cover goal setting, time management, devotional time and journaling.  The coaches also go over the weeks activities including, how they spent their free time, what struggles the have encounter and what new standards they have set. The residents read two recovery/spiritual books every three months and do a book report.  Coaches are the resident’s accountability partner and they monitor their program responsibilities.

Monthly Socials-Chrysalis celebrates the following holidays with a party; Valentine’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July, Halloween, Christmas.  During the summer months there are several BBQ’s, picnics and game nights. Because of the lack of healthy family activities in the homes of the majority of our residents as they were going up, Chrysalis feels it is very important for the client to experience how to have fun without drugs and alcohol or other additive substances. Being lonely and bored is also one of the main triggers for an addict.  Learning how to enjoy friends and how to spend quality time with them is one of our objectives.

Alcohol and Drug Testing– Daily Random drug and alcohol testing is administered by the House Assistants and is faxed into the Probation and Parole Offices and to treatment providers.

Budgeting– Each resident meets with our budgeting coordinator each month. They are given a budget envelope to keep all of their receipts in and a budgeting form to track their expenses and savings account. Residents pay a monthly transition fee.
